« on: October 01, 2006, 10:26:53 AM »

I would like to request the addition of an FBX exporter, the engine I use is BeyondVirtual and to be able to export to FBX with joints is essential.

I second that request since I'm also a BV user.  Grin

If you have milkshape you should be able to send your fragmo exports to .ms3d. then out of milkshape to fbx.

I know, as a last resort, but the thought just occured to me...

Milkshape 3d always exports models triangulated which is a downer,in BV models which are not triangulated tend to look better.

Jim

All models are triangulated upon export with the exception of obj.  Triangulation also occures by the game engine - its the way 3d models are represented

Fragmotion can export to ms3d, which BV can read. I don't think you would have to go through Milkshape. The real problem here is that Milkshape.ms3d only supports 1 bone weight per vertex. I would rather see BV support another format like b3d or Directx that could be exported from Fragmotion already. I don't know about B3d, but I know directx supports bone weights.

Actually ms3d files do support multiple weights,  but milkshape doesn't let you rig with multiple weights.  The next version of fragmotion will contain an updated ms3d exporter that includes this feature.

Cheesy Cheesy fragMO ROCKS! Cheesy Cheesy

I am also aware that Wes Howe has submitted his Source for the Unimesh system; meaning it seems Mete intends to roll the plugin into the UI...and why not, weighted vertices are now pretty much a 'standard' and it's super to see him pickup up on this important feature now available to the developers at this end of the spectrum...

I'm also using Unity3d, and i really like to rig and animate my meshes with Fragmotion.

An FBX exporter would be really useful !

Thanks,

Hi, I registered here to add my voice to this!

I love FragMOTION, it's the best rigging tool I've used, period.  Please support FBX, or talk to Unity about adding SMD support, I think they'd be very supportive if you approached them!

Don't want to get any hopes up here, but I'm currently finishing up the fbx exporter.  If all goes well it should be available this week.
