Blender <-> Fragmotion
« on: February 28, 2010, 04:18:37 PM »

Hi There

I am using Blender to make my model, do the UV unwrapping and add a texture, then export to .B3D and import into fragmotion where I rig and animate my model, then export to .B3D again and use it in my game.

So far, I did all the rigging and some animations and I noticed the UV mapping was a little off, so I went back into blender and fixed it. Now I am trying to figure out if there is a way to merge my changes into fragmotion. The best I can come up with is to start a new fragmotion project with the updated model, merge the skeleton and animations with the new project and then do all the assigning vertices  to bones again.

I'm not adding or removing verticies, is there a way to merge the verticie assignments, or better yet keep the original fragmotion project and simply merge the new UV map into it?

Thanks

Try this:
Load the model animated with fragmotion
Menu:Edit/Select All/Faces
Menu:Edit/Delete Mesh Selection/All
Merge the mesh portion of the updated blender model (uncheck the character node, then select the model node and click 'check all')
Menu:Vertex/Weld All

then make sure the animation still works.
You'll need to remove any duplicate groups and materials from the model pane
