Select faces of selected vertices?
« on: March 09, 2011, 02:11:53 PM »

Is there an easy way to select the faces of the currently selected vertices?

If not, this should be high on the next feature addition list. It would make this process SO much faster.

Why not simply select the 'faces' themselves...??

I'm unclear on your 'process' that needs speeding up?!??

What exactly are you attempting to do?

In the interim I've discovered that the groups are really sort of meaningless in X format coming out of FragMotion.

I had to export to MilkShape format, then load it in MilkShape and export through the JT DirectX exporter to get things to show up right.

Basically, the DirectX exporter for FragMotion doesn't attach the mesh to the bones via the assigned verticies. So when I went to use the model with ragdoll physics it kept saying there was no mesh associated with the bones.

The model I'm getting out of MilkShape has the mesh associated with "most" of the bones, now I'm trying to figure out why there are just a few that aren't.

[edit]
I would select the faces individually if I had to, but that would literally take a day or two to do this with over 30 bones and lots of detail in this model. If there were an option on the Faces menu to "Select Faces of Currently Selected Verticies" it would take about 5 minutes to do the whole thing.
